OMAHA, Neb. — Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett wants to prove his sales ability at his company’s Borsheims jewelry store before holding his annual news conference.
Buffett plans to make a short appearance as a jewelry salesman at Borsheims Sunday as part of the events for Berkshire shareholders.
After Buffett tries to set sales records at Borsheims, he and Berkshire Vice Chairman Charlie Munger will meet with the media. On Saturday, the two men spent nearly six hours answering questions before an arena full of shareholders.
Many of the questions Saturday dealt with the actions of former Berkshire executive, David Sokol, who bought stock in a chemical company shortly before recommending that Berkshire buy the firm.
Sokol, who resigned, denies any wrongdoing. But Buffett says Sokol’s behavior was unethical and inexcusable.
