TRADING MARKETS: Morningstar rises on founder's fervent philosophy

Nov 08, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- BRK/A | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffett inspired Morningstar founder, Joe Mansueto, to launch his managed fund information group. Mansueto said he lost interest in the stock market after completing business school, although he said Buffett's investment philosophy reignited his interest. Mansueto launched the home-based Morningstar company in 1984 and maintains a 54% stake in the group, which is now worth around $A2.2bn.
