Two years ago, Nicole Buffett was disowned by her grandfather, the world's richest man Warren Buffett after she appeared in a documentary by Johnson & Johnson heir Jamie Johnson about the gap between rich and poor and then plugged the movie on "Oprah."

Now, she's getting by with her artwork, a collection of high-end abstract landscapes that have been added to private collections from Japan to Washington, D.C., to Hollywood.

Still, this generates only about $40,000 in income which doesn't allow for such things as cable TV and health insurance, according to a recent MarieClaire story.

She told MarieClaire.com that she holds no grudges against her grandfather, even after he started sending checks to his other grandchildren.

"I think it shows he's trying to reach out to his grandkids in a more personal way," she said. "And probably he's rewarding them for behaving."
